BMSB Season 2025–26
The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has released the 2025–26 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) seasonal measures, applicable to shipments arriving in Australia between 1 September 2025 and 30 April 2026.
Under the updated regulations, goods classified under Target High Risk tariff chapters remain subject to mandatory BMSB treatment. These categories primarily include wood products, stone and ceramic materials, steel and metal products, machinery and mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and transport equipment.
Shipments originating from Emerging Risk Countries — United Kingdom, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea — are not subject to mandatory treatment unless the goods were manufactured in a Target Risk Country. However, these shipments remain subject to random inspection upon arrival.
During the 2025–26 season, increased compliance scrutiny is expected on documentation accuracy, treatment verification and ICS reporting. Higher operational risk is typically associated with machinery shipments, steel products and mixed LCL cargo.
At TESN, we focus on predictable execution and structural resilience, helping our clients manage compliance requirements with confidence throughout every shipment.
